About Me

It all started when I was a freshman in highschool. I was trying out for the basketball team when I had torn my hamstring in my right leg. I still pushed myself to finish the few days of tryouts because basketball was all I wanted to do. I ended up getting cut in the final tryout and I felt so defeated. I wasn't sure what I could do next sports wise until I talked to the track coach at my school. He told me that I should join the team because it would teach me how to take better care of my legs and allow me to get faster than I was before. So I took this opportunity and I enjoyed it enough to make it my primary sport. I was not even close to the fastest guy out there, but I was determined to be. Over the years I have gotten a lot faster and PRd multiple times. For example my apt for the 400m as a freshman was a 61 and I ended my senior year with a PR of 52.32. that is a dramatic change. I have gone through countless workouts where I felt like I was dying at the end of practice. I still wonder why I forced myself to continue coming out. But there's something about the hard workouts and competing that just get me motivated to get better. My junior year happened to be one of the greatest seasons. I was apart of the 4x4 with a great group of hard working guys and we qualified for state. We came in as the last seed, the ultimate underdogs. On prelim day we went and ran our hearts out and happened to qualify for finals as the 9th and last team. Once again the ultimate underdogs. On finals day we were all scared out of our minds because we realized that this would be our last race of the season. We ran the hardest we ever have that day and happened to place 4th overall. Our team was suprised, our competition was suprised. It still is the greatest day of my life. I wish I could go back and relive it. The following season we all picked up where we left off. Working hard everyday to get better and get out times down, but late in he track season of my senior year, I fell during a practice and broke my collarbone into 3 pieces. This was just before the Last chance meet in marana. I was apart of the 4x1 and 4x4 and we had just been bumped out of state qualifiers. The team was crushed to find out of my injury and my season coming to an abrupt end. I still made my way out to the meet to watch and cheer my teammates on while they raced to requalify. They ended up barely qualifying for state. We were all suprised, but still ecstatic. As state approached, I started to get affected. It was hard to watch my team go to state and run the races they did. Especially the relays since I've been apart of them for the past 2 years. The 4x1 went and placed 4th overall and the 4x4 didn't place. But, they still made it and they couldn't be anymore glad that they had the opportunity to run.
