I was introduced to baseball at the age of one years old from my Tata Angel and from the day i picked up a bat i felt a bond, its been my dream to always play at the next level. I was taught to always excel at the thing i love and play with all heart and it was my desire to play behind the plate being involved in every play. I come from a family where things aren't given to you on a silver plate my family have been through struggles where my siblings and I shouldnt have. But my mom and grandma has raised me from a baby to where i am now and putting me on the right path to give me a life they didn't get to live. I will play my heart out every day,practice, and game to let them see that they one day will never have to worry about a thing. My whole child hood life my Dad was detained and tooken away from my family, in 2006 he was free a man busting his ass off trying to get back on his feet with him barley knowing his youngest son, me. In 2006 my Dad and Tata past away the only men i had to teach me the right from wrong. From there my life took a turn, i decided to make a goal, a priority to make it happen in the class room and the field not only for myself but for my family to show them that im not going to just be reminiscing on my past and use it as an excuse. But using it as motivation to be the man my mom and grandma never had. It is my desire to play ball. Thank you, Ruben Retana
