Since I moved to the US 9 years ago, 1 thing that my mom always encouraged me to do every summer is: try something new. At the age of 9, the summer before 5th grade, I tried my first rec volleyball camp. Competitively swimming 5 days a week didn’t give me much time to try something new but my mom insisted that I get out of my comfort zone and make the time. Now 6 years later, I’m more in love with this sport than I have ever been. Having the stamina and endurance through competitive swimming helped me to do more than most kids at my age and that pushed me and helped me to work harder and get stronger. Persistent, encouraging, and passionate are among a few traits I’ve developed over the years and these traits continue to grow. Not only have I grown as a person, but also as a volleyball player. Whether it be always being complimented for how soft my hands are, or having a very consistent jump float serve, or being able to dig all those hard hits, I’ve grown and I work hard to grow futhur. With NEPSAC and Founders League canceled for the season, I have continued to work on agility, speed, strength, consistency and more than anything my attitude to be a positive team player, no matter what. At school, I am doing well, I have 2 honor classes and 4 regular in a highly competitive preparatory school. This year, I’m the strongest and most confident academically than ever. I enjoy all my classes and my teachers play an important role in pushing me to my limits. I continue to be active on campus by being involved in clubs and community services on and off campus. With the current situation, I still strive to be an active member on campus, even if I’m not physically there. For colleges, I am looking for one that will both push me to get better in the classroom and on the court, with a great “family-like” feel on campus. I would like to be part of a team where I can make an impact and make the team the best that it can be. I would like a college that will help me grow in my intended areas of interest - Psychology/Human Resources/Social Sciences and Business. I am open to options across the country, as long as I can see myself growing intellectually, emotionally and as an athlete.
