My names Dylan Call and I love soccer and family. I fell in love with soccer at a very young age of 5. I played my whole life year round and tried getting better and better every year. I got to my freshman year and I had a couple trials with the sport and family. I got cut in final cuts at my 6a high school called Syracuse High. After I got cut I got disappointed with not only the outcome but with myself as well. At the time I was also battling depression and anxiety from my first parents divorce. At times i felt alone because I couldn’t play on my high schools team and because of family drama. I turned to the one thing I love, and it was soccer. It was my way to cope with everything going on. I got to work, I didn’t want to be cut again so I got trainers, and went to training. I then trained for a year and moved to Idaho to a 3a school called Marsh Valley. They didn’t have a very good program at the time and lost every game. My sophomore year I played a great season, I lead the team in assists and was one goal off from leading the team in goals. I started to recruit more of my athletic friends to come play soccer because I started to try and be a leader. I got many to play to the point where we started to have many subs and many more kids. My junior year was another trial I faced. We were 3rd in the state and playing a 4a school I got kneed in the calf and was injured for 4 games. But that didn’t stop me, I got to work and showed up to every practice making sure our guys did the work. I came back and we started getting going and lost in the district championship that year taking second. Again I led in assists and was only a couple away from the top goal scorer as well led by Gavin Bissell. My senior year went really good, we started to win a lot more games.  We also kept going up in the rankings until we were top 5 and beat the number 3 team in the state. Then districts came around and we lost by 1 in the final seconds. So we went to our state play in game. They got a quick 0-2 lead on us but as the captain I tried my best to get everyone’s head up. So i stepped up and took a free kick and scored making it 1-2. Then I assisted another goal to Gavin, and then I had 1 more assists to Gavin putting us up 3-2 with 5 minutes left. We got scored on in the last 2 minutes putting us into overtime. Then double overtime. Then pks, all 5 of us made it. Then we lost in the second round of pks. I ended making first team all area. I’ve been traveling with my spring team and we went to Vegas, and to Arizona. Now i’m onto my spring season and I have 12 assists playing for 5 games right now and one goal. I love soccer, it’s been my love since I was 5 and I don’t plan on stopping.
