My name is Elisha Andre Smith, born 2009 in the city of Springfield, MA. I've been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, for Springfield Football Club, or SFC for short and have come a long way since then. Playing for varsity in 8th grade at Springfield International Charter School was one of my first ever tastes of high school football. Ever since I was young, I had always been playing with people older than me, because my coaches thought my skill level was up to par with some of my older peers. The level and style of play have always been something I loved about playing with older people and really developed my speed of play and decision making.
Going to college would be great for my goals and aspirations because playing professional soccer has always been a dream of mine. I would love to play at the top level among many talented ballers, and college would be the start of my path to the top of the leaderboard. It will also give me more time to be coached, learn more about the game and how it's played, and have experience in a more professional setting. With that, my academics are exceeding, and school has never really been an obstacle for me. I've always been told I'm a smart kid, by teachers, family, and friends and my grades have never slipped below a C. Playing professional soccer would be a dream come true. Of course, college would help me to level up and I plan that one day I will be able to play for the MLS. I would love to travel the world and play football for many different areas and leagues all over the world.
I would say a good ego helps players be successful on the pitch. Anywhere I go, I strive to be the best player there, with much more growing to do. I also hold a deep understanding for the game, and I am very passionate for my play and my teammates. I have been captaining for my team multiple times, and I am a good leader. Determination is one of my key attributes and I can help lead the team to success whether I am captain or not. I have many talents, like my physical attributes (vertical, strength, short and long-distance speed, balance, endurance, agility) my technical attributes (ball control, finishing, passing) and tactical attributes, (vision, game IQ, decision making, emotional control, off the ball movement) but I am different from most other players because of the point of view I see the game from. The game is not all about skill, dribbling past players, getting that goal that makes the fans scream. I see it from a much deeper level, a viewpoint that most players don't have enough passion to see the game at.
