Hello my name is Drew Whalen class of 2017, my primary position is catcher and my secondary position is corner outfield although I can also play second or third base. To state it simply, I am a ball player and love the game of baseball. I have played the game since I was three years old. I respect the game and all the people I have ever played with. I have had the opportunity to learn the game from many great coaches. I know without them I wouldn't be the player that I am today. My parents are very positive people, they have always supported me in baseball and that's one of the reasons I love playing so much.
As far as baseball itself, I feel that I am a great team player and create a huge impact on the teams success. I mean this respectfully, with every team we have shown improvement in each of our seasons. In my freshman year I was the starting catcher on varsity and we were picked to finish 6th in the league and ended up finishing third. And, in my sophomore year we won the league! I also ended up calling a perfect game and a 1 hitter with 2 different pitchers that year. In conclusion, I would like to assure all of the college coaches interested in me that I'm a hard worker. I try to be a better student, baseball player and person every day. On the field I communicate clear and loudly. Off the field I would say I am a little quieter than most. Coaches usually tell me that I am very coachable and always open to listening to advice. Thanks for your time!
