It was the beginning of my freshman year of high school. I tried out for the freshman softball team and coach called me back and said I’m sorry but you didn’t make the team. I was heartbroken! I told myself I wasn’t going to give up and that I would tryout next year and work hard during the off season. I did exactly that and tryouts come around the corner my sophomore year. I tired out and coach starts talking to me and said that my hard work and determination paid off and that I made the team! I was so excited and couldn’t wait to start playing for dakota high school. A couple weeks later I was at a tournament for high school. I was up to bat and then bam! I smacked that ball straight up the middle over the fence smacking the score board! That was the best moment ever because I just remembered running around the bases and all of that hard work and hitting lessons had paid off!
