About Me
I'm a junior at Rogers High School in
Rogers, Minnesota. I started playing volleyball as a club player for Club
Velocity in October 2018. Honestly, I tried out to try something new as I had
played soccer since I was 4 years old. I was excited to make the 14-1
team at the time and that is where I discovered my love of the game!
In the Fall of 2019, I tried out for my high
school team and made the 9A team, kicking off my high school career.
Since then, I have thrived under several coaches and learned so much about the
strategy of the game. One of my favorite things as a junior having played
3 years of high school volleyball and now into my 4th year of club ball is to
read the other team and anticipate their next move.
I love playing with a variety of young women, and
in 2020 when Covid-19 hit, my area club could not offer the 16-1 team that I
needed due to gym restrictions, so I shifted to MN Premier in Andover and made
their 16-1 team with a few of my fellow Rogers girls. I found it
exciting and challenging to be coached by different people and play with
different girls as we navigated the pandemic together.
When I came back to Rogers High School in 2021, I
made the Junior Varsity team as a starter and the Varsity team as an
alternative. On JV, I got the privilege of playing all around the court
and further honed my defensive skills, something that I don't think a lot of
middles get to do. I found that not only did I love it, I was good at
it! As a Varsity team, we exceeded expectations and ended up competing in
our State Tournament, bringing home 4th place, a first for our school.
I'm now back at MN Premier on their 17-1 team and a
starting middle. I love getting the job done for my team and celebrating
the successes with my teammates. Win or lose, this game is my passion and
I look forward to playing well beyond high school.
