About Me

I've been playing basketball since I was about 5 years old in my front yard. When I was 8, I played on my first real team, in a league organized by my church. I started out as a point guard, but I was always a natural shooter. So when I got old enough to play middle school basketball at Christ Covenant School, my position changed to a shooting guard. I was my team's go to scorer all throughout middle school, and we won our district championship in 8th grade. In addition to basketball, I was doing well in academics. I finished middle school with all A's and one B, and was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.  I transferred to Madison Ridgeland Academy to start my freshman year of high school. There I maintained high A averages and worked my way up to a starting position. My team made it to our junior varsity district championship, and by the end of the season I had become the team's go to shooter. I also played AAU basketball with the Mississippi Jazz in the spring of 2019, and by the end of the season had become the Jazz's primary shooter as well. In my freshman year, I achieved all A's, earned the highest average in my Latin 1 class, and finished the year with a 99+ average in several classes. I am now in my Sophomore year of high school at MRA, and I've worked really hard every day to get better at basketball and in academics. I am doing well in all of my classes, and have maintained my all A's report card. My position is still mostly a shooting guard, but I am working to get better at my driving and ball handling as well. One of my role models is Emma Meesseman, who plays for the Washington Mystics. I love the way she plays and the way she carries herself on the court. She always tries her best and I admire how hard she has worked to get to where she is today. One of my short term goals for basketball is to get more aggressive and be a better defender, and a long term goal is to play the game I love in college. I've worked hard to get to where I am now, and I know if I keep doing that I can accomplish my dream.
