Hi, my name is Morgan Kappenman and I would like to formally introduce myself. I am currently a junior enrolled at Manzano High School. I am playing on the varsity high school basketball team and for an AAU team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I played on varsity since my sophomore year and I have been playing basketball since 1st grade, my teams consisted of Playworks, YMCA league, County League, Middle School, High School, and a traveling New Mexico AAU Team. I was team captain, and was recognized as the defensive player of the year, and the following year I was recognized for offensive player of the year. I attend one or more basketball camps with college coaches in the summer. I tried out for an AAU team, New Mexico Select and made the team (45 minutes one way trip for tryouts and practices).
I am a very exceptional student and I have maintained a 4.1 Grade Point Average throughout my High School career. I am not totally a 100% on what major I should pursue, but I will likely go into a medical field, or dentistry. I received an certification every year from 6th grade to now for my academic achievements, such as academic honor roll, presidential academic award, as well as principal honor award for a 4.0 and higher, and I look forward to do the best I can with every thing that is put upon me. Although I take my academics very seriously and strive for the best and put my goals far to outreach, I love to make my friends and family laugh while I make jokes. All the classes that I attend at high school the students know me not only for my academic stand point but my sense of humor, integrity, and kindness.
I also enjoy giving back to the basketball community. I recently volunteered to be the assistant coach of a 3rd grade co-ed basketball team at i9 Sports last summer. Our team received 2nd in the championship game, and I realized how far I came from my elementary years until now, as well as having fun. Those girls and boys showed me that you can get as far as you want if you practice and play hard not only for yourself, but also for your team mates.
I plan to attend a college that has a high academic stand point and that fits me perfectly. I am very committed to playing at the college level as well as excited. I know if I was given this opportunity I would be grateful and ecstatic about it.
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me.
