I started playing basketball when I was very young, both my parent played basketball growing up and wanted to instill that skill set in me.  I have always enjoyed playing the game, but I think the connections that basketball allows you to make with people and the memories it allows you to create is what I enjoy the most.  I have met some of my best friend through basketball and I know that this first chapter of my life would not be the same without basketball.  In middle school I was diagnose with Type 1 Diabetes, it was the middle of basketball season.  I had to sit out and watch my team continue to play and build memories without me.  That was my motivation to not ever let diabetes hold me back from doing anything, I was going to do whatever it took to get back and be stronger than I ever was.  Basketball is what got me back on my feet after I got out f the hospital, I was outside or in the gym all the time trying to rebuild my strength as fast as I could.  My first game back I wasn't strong enough to throw the ball up high enough to make a layup.  Now, I am one of our teams best shooters, and I would like to think I put on a little more muscle...lol.  I want to be able to play basketball in the next chapter of my life, it has taken my so far, I have learned so many life lessons, and I hope to continue to learn.
