My name is Hunter Whitton.  I am the oldest of my mom's 3 children and have 3 step-siblings.  I also have a half brother on my dad's side.  My mom and step-dad have guardianship of my niece (3) and my nephew (5) who I am helping to raise.  Additionally, I work a part-time job at a fast food establishment as well as babysitting when I can.  

I attend North Valleys High School in Reno, Nevada where I am a 3 sport athlete (volleyball, basketball, and softball) and I am currently eligible for my high school's prestigious 3-6-3 award which honors students who maintain a 3.0+ GPA, play 6 varsity seasons, and 3 varsity sports.  I am working toward an Honors diploma at graduation by taking honors and Advanced Placement coursework.  I work hard to be successful in everything I do and pride myself in being an athlete.  While I may not be the biggest or the best on any team, it has been said that I have the biggest heart.

I began playing softball when I was 9, almost 10, years old, so I have really only been playing for 7 years.  I know that I have a lot to learn and am always looking to get better.  When I'm not working with my travel softball team or practicing with my other high school sports teams, I work with my step-dad and sister on hitting and catching drills to ensure that my skills are constantly improving so that I am not too far behind my peers who have been playing since they were 5.  

I am excited to go to college and play softball at the next level.  I have watched almost every college world series since I began playing softball and I would love to be one of the players a little girl could look up to and aspire to be.  It is my hope to play collegiate softball and go to nursing school or pre-med.  I enjoy helping and taking care of others, so a career in medicine seems like a natural career choice for me.
