I started playing football when I was in the second grade.  I played in that league for 5 straight years, I was blessed to have some incredible coaches who tough me the fundamentals of the game and helped learn to love the sport.  I was also part of some very special teams and chalked up some very impressive records expect one year, but every game was close.  By the time I moved up to middle school I was one of the best players in that league and had earned the respect of the coaches and my fellow players.  In Middle School, 7th and 8th grade years were more of the same.  I played both sides of the ball except I had transitioned from a running back to a wide receiver.  I think the biggest accomplishment of my middle school years was punt returning.  My 8th grade year I averaged over 50 per return.  I had hoped to see that continue into my 9th grade season but it seems that 8th grade punters were better than the 9th grade punters in my league and most punts were too short to attempt a return plus I shared return responsibilities with a teammate.
Over the last few years I have been fortunate to attend many camps & combines like: NUC, NexGen, FBU, Rivals and many others.  I’ve received numerous invites to events like: FBU TopGun, the National Combine and various Bowl games all before my sophomore year.  Attending these events has shown me a few things: 1. That no matter how good I am in my local community there are other athletes are just as good and even better; 2. Being exposed to these other athletes I see how much harder I need to work to achieve my goals; 3. Having faced off with these athletes as a freshman, and at least held my own. I am even more confident in my abilities and what I can and will become.
In the end, I want to be the best wide-out I can physically and mentally be and I want to play college D1 football for a team that wants me and I’m not just a backup plan, while I earn my degree in the medical field and after that if I’m blessed enough I want to go play in the NFL.
