About Me

Hello! My name is Anderson Foster, an 11th grader who be attending Harding Academy in Memphis, Tennessee this fall. I have many hobbies such as basketball (which I’ve played for 10+ years) and I also like health science (my favorite school subject). Although I’m not a huge social person, I still tend to enjoy friends/family and feel that they are a big part of me in many ways.

I enjoy basketball in all shape and forms, whether it’s playing the sport, watching, drawing, or even on the video games I like to play. It’s a great stress reliever and is also a way for me to be myself and escape everything going on in the world.

I would love to play basketball at the collegiate level because I feel that it provides many more opportunities for my basketball journey and academic future. It also is a magnificent way to take my talent to the next step competitively and mentally. I’m willing to make that sacrifice (athletically and academically) so that I can be at my highest potential at that level of competitive basketball.

My strengths on the court are my ability to use my size to my advantage in certain circumstances, and to also facilitate the floor and assist my teammates for scoring opportunities. I can finish well both above and away from the rim, along with my ability to consistently knock down shots from range when needed to. I am mostly known for my defensive ability to block shots and trouble the offense of many opponents, as well as the ability to guard all 5 positions. My primary positions are shooting guard and small forward/wing. I’ve been seen as a threat to many teams because of my athleticism and the impact I have on the game.

I also have strengths off the court such as my intelligence and my effect in the classroom. I have always been open to new ideas/interests and value my education very much. Helping people is something else I value because I like to put a smile on people’s faces and encourage them as well.  I feel that the career path best for me would be down the medical road because it fits my desires and interests the most. The things stated above prove why the academic side of college would also have a big influence on my decision for choosing my college and path in my career. I believe that the student comes before the athlete.

I feel that I would be a great asset to your team and program because of my determination and leadership skills. I am a head-on competitor and would do what it takes to win and perform at my highest potential. Lastly, I’m a great person in general. I have good character and treat everyone with respect (especially authority), but most of all, myself.
