Hi, I’m Matthew Horner — a 2027 quarterback at Independence High School in Thompson’s Station, Tennessee. I’m 6'6", 210 pounds, and I’ve worked hard to develop the right mix of size, arm strength, and athleticism to lead an offense.
I take pride in being calm under pressure and reading defenses quickly. I love studying film, understanding how defenses move, and finding ways to create plays both in and out of the pocket. I’ve tested with a 9?3? broad jump, a sub-4.4 second 20-yard shuttle, and a 4.78 second 40-yard dash — and I’m continuing to build strength and speed every offseason.
Off the field, I’m focused on academics and personal growth. I currently have a 4.10 GPA and take honors and AP classes. I also play Varsity basketball and run track, which help me stay competitive and improve my footwork and overall athleticism.
My goal is to play football at the Division I level and make an impact on and off the field. I’m committed to putting in the work to keep improving as a quarterback, a teammate, and a leader.
