My name is Deven Nixon, I am currently a junior at Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas. I live with my mom and dad, I have two brothers and a niece named Zo. My younger brother is a sophomore at Steele high school as well. 
I have been playing football since I was 6 years old. I started playing flag football then played tackle. I played center when I started playing tackle football for TYFA organization. I played baseball as well, started with Tball and decided to focus on basketball and football after 7th grade. 
In 7th grade, I played running back and enjoyed running the ball and scoring touchdowns. I also started developing an interest in basketball. I started playing basketball for a club basketball team named All-in. My position in basketball was power forward/ center. I enjoy playing basketball and enjoyed working on my speed and conditioning. Beginning of my 8th grade year we moved from San Antonio, Texas to Cibolo, Texas. I attended Dobie Middle, I played football and basketball for Dobie and also played club basketball as well. 
This is the first year that I have decided not to play basketball. I still meet my friends at the YMCA or at the park to play basketball several times a week. 
Currently at Steele High school, I am starting varsity, my position is Right Tackle. I was moved to Varsity my sophomore year with the travel squad. We had a great season in 2022, we went 11-1. I started every game and played against some of the best defenses. I enjoyed the season and can't wait for it to start all over again. I started training with CMS training, with Coach Tavaris Jeffries every Sunday starting my sophomore year. My brother and I both still attend every Sunday and work on offensive lineman training. My hard work has been showing on the field, I received 2022 1st team All District, 2022 All Area, and 2022 3rd team All State. I have also been working hard academically. I am dyslexic and have had to overcome many challenges with my learning disability. I currently have all A's and B's in all my classes and will continue to maintain those grades from now on and will work on improving my GPA. Learning what accommodations work best for me and continuing to focus on how I learn best and utilizing my resources I know I will succeed. My goal is to play football in college and if I continue to work hard in school and on the field, my hard work will pay off. 
I am a respectful, focused team player that is determined to reach my goal.
