My name is Darius Stewart I am currently attending Manor New Tech High School. I started playing baseball at the age of 5yrs old and developed my skills having the opportunity to play on various select teams from age 10yrs old to present. During my high school year I was selected to play on the varsity team as a freshman my first year in high school because of my leadership and hard work I developed. I can play any position on the field although my primary position is short stop and second base. My coaches can rely on me to play in any position were I am needed based on the competition. I consider my self to be a self-starter, team leader, smart and a rounded good talented baseball player who lives in a small town where I  had the opportunity to attend a school that is academically geared towards students that want to attend college. New Tech HS rarely have recruiters come out to look at athletes and have limited resources available to us which I am happy to have had the opportunity to play select baseball and sign-up for NCSA and RBI Austin to help get my name out there. The sport of baseball has always been a passion of mine every since I was able to play at age 5 yrs old. I have always been an rounded athlete student playing basketball, baseball, football and track in school. I am also involved in other outside curriculums such as a mime dancer at my Church, Gear-Up which is college preparation for students to prepare them to go to college. I also work with my grandpa volunteering at his restaurant to take care of my horse and community service helping my grandmother with the elder occasionally. Majority of my time is spent on conditioning myself to be a better baseball player by working out, practicing hitting and researching baseball achievements. The sport of baseball has always been a motivation to keep me going by working hard to strive to maintain good grades, go to a good college of my choice and become a better baseball player. The effect of starting baseball at a young age always had a advantage on players and coming to the high school level and playing on a varsity team as a freshman has taught me to keep working hard and showing me that I still have room to improve to be a top prospect in my class of 2023. I achieved a goal in 2021 by making New Comer of the year and MVP . I’m looking forward to the next 2yrs of being successful and reaching my future goals as a great baseball ball player for college or Professional ball and hoping that someone out there can see my skills and athletic performance.
