My story:
My name is Christina Tipton and this is my story. I grew up either being on the field or in the bleachers; if I wasn’t there I was on the court playing basketball and supporting friends from afar being anyone’s #1 fan. I have been playing softball for 13 years and have come to love it more and more every year. Over the summer of 2014, I received two MVPs at the World Series in Allen, TX playing shortstop and 3rd base. I have played with Firecracker, glory, and Impact Gold select teams. Freshman year through junior year of high school, I have been the starting varsity catcher for Paradise High School. I regularly batted sixth in the lineup but was moved up to fourth my Junior year. Freshman and Sophomore year, I made 2nd team All-District. My Junior year, I made 1st team All-District and Academic all year, I also got Defensive Player All Year by Wise County Messenger. I also achieved getting an honorable mention in basketball that year. This summer I told my basketball coach that I would play for him in the summer league that we host every year. While going up for a right handed layup, I was pushed hard and ended up blowing out my ACL completely. I couldn’t keep my head away from the fact that I just messed up my whole career. I had surgery on June 15 and I have been fighting to get back ever since. I plan on coming back for basketball and finishing out my Senior year with softball and pushing my team to get farther in the play offs this year. I plan to make a big difference now that I’ve seen things from a very different perspective. The doctor never said I couldn’t play again. I want to make my family proud for what they have sacrificed for me. I would like to purse my education by getting my masters in business and minor in phycology.
