About Me

My name is Dontay McMurtrey. I have had the blessing of overcoming adversity my entire
life. This adversity I speak of has shaped me, built character in me and made me the
man I am today. I have been fortunate to be surrounded with caring people who have
taught me great values, work ethic second to none, integrity of the purest kind, and
above all, a love for God, family, and my fellow men.
That said. I am also a fierce competitor. I have learned to find a way to win in everything
I do, and accept nothing less. I have learned through my wrestling career an
unmatchable work ethic, toughness, and athletic attributes which have helped me
immensely in my Football career. I love competition and feed off of it. I love the feeling
of being the one who my Team counts on to lead them to victory. I love being the kind of
leader who lifts and elevates the play and qualities of those around me.
I have been a leader in all sports I’ve been a part of as well as social and religious
groups. I always conduct myself with top notch poise, respect and consideration
for all. My Education means more to me than I could ever express in words as I see it
as something that will help me make the world a better place. I have always been in the
honors program with my grades and maintain 3.7 accumulative average. I plan to
pursue the Medical Field as my Major in college. My grades are very important to me.
I was raised by my grandma and know the meaning of keeping myself morally clean,
mentally awake and physically strait. I also, know what it means to have little and make
do. I know the value of self-discipline and standing up for what is right. Avoiding peer
pressure and helping those in need.
I am blessed with physical abilities which have allowed me to be successful in
everything I do. I recognize they are gifts and plan to use them to the best of my ability.
