My name is Malakai Quinata and I am 16 years old. I come from a military family, my mom, dad, two brothers and one sister. I am the oldest. My parents have set an example to work hard, they have worked hard to give me the opportunities they never had. They are my biggest supporters. I have seen my mom raise me and my siblings and still graduate college. My dad being in the Army is often gone but does everything to make sure he’s at my games when he can. He also graduated college while being in the Army. My family is my motivation. They work hard to help me accomplish all I can. Playing college basketball is my dream. Being on a college court and showing the world what I am made of is my vision. Giving my family the life we all deserve. I did not always see in myself what my family and coaches see but after this last season and winning MVP and All District, the fire in me is even hotter. I know I have what it takes to make it far and I am willing to work for those opportunities.
