I moved to VA with my Mother and two siblings from Columbus, Ohio in 2013. In 7th grade I took an interest in basketball and Track & Field High Jump. But I fell in love with Basketball. I worked hard and learned the game. I really loved the competition and challenge of the sport. I took on the leadership of my team by eight grade as a Point Guard. My freshmen year I was came in as a starting Varsity PG/SG I was terrified for our first game but in that game I made a name for myself in Spotsylvania County with a game high of 19 points. By the end of the season I earned All District Honorable Mention. By tenth grade I was sure I wanted to play basketball at the next level. I have a very supportive Coach and Teammates that continuously push to be my best. Sophomore year I we had a pretty good season. As a team we worked well together and I became a Captain. I earn 1st Team All- Region, 2nd Team All - District and Honorable Mention All- Area in 2017-2018. I am eager to see what this year brings for my team and I. Nakiyah Bumgardner-Ferguson
