About Me

My name is Nelson Hall, and I am about to enter my senior year of high school. My family is very important to me as is my faith. I have great parents who do all they can for me and my future as well as a younger brother. I attend Opp High School and sports are my life! I have a passion for football and have loved the game since I can remember.

I have really taken my future planning and recruitment seriously as I finished my junior season after the success that I had. I attended my first unofficial visit to Troy during my Junior year and connected with another standout linebacker, Carlton Marshall. Carlton told me put in the work and get stronger and faster and I can fulfil my dream of playing at the next level, and that is what I am doing!

My head coach for my junior season was Mike Dubose. Coach Dubose needs no introduction as he was the head coach at The University of Alabama as well as coaching in the NFL. He has also coached in multiple other college locations as well as at the high school level.

Coach Dubose taught me well and taught me to be a student of the game and how to read an offense and to grow as a linebacker throughout my sophomore season as my Defensive Coordinator and then as Head Coach my junior year. I finished my junior year with 107 total tackles, 39 which were solo and 68 assists. I had 16.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks with 2 INT and a TD returned on defense. I am looking forward to my senior year and continuing my growth on my journey to play football at the next level. I will be learning from my new Head Coach Matt Brunson, and very excited about the next chapter in my development. Coach Brunson himself needs no introduction as he is a coaching legend in the state of Florida winning and playing for multiple state championships as well as playing on one of Troy University's National Championship Teams when they were Troy State in the 80's. 

Finishing my sophomore year I had the honor of receiving an Honorable Mention for Class 3A Football in Alabama. In my junior year, I received 2nd Team All State for Class 3A Football in Alabama, and my goal for my senior year is to receive 1st Team! Improving my strength and working out to build my body mass and speed will help me to accomplish this as well as attending several football camps over the course of the summer.
