I'm Keilani Mayo. I'm 16 years old and my goal and dream is to play volleyball in college. My dad played at San Francisco State University back when they had a football program. Listening to his stories and watching my cousin sign his NLI all influenced me in wanting to play in college, too. Seventh grade was when I decided I wanted to play in college and ever since then I've trained and worked hard to be the best student-athlete I can be. 
As an incoming freshman for the class of 2019, I entered freshmen year as a 13 year old and was able to compete at a Varsity level.
Besides Volleyball, I help out at Evergreen Adult Development Center which is owned by my grandmother and is assisted by my mom and aunt. It is a day program for mentally disabled adults. I read stories to the high functioning clients and help distribute food to clients. I also, help out in the offices by printing out worksheets and going on errands with the food program to gather up supplies or food that the company needs. 
Last year, I transferred to Valley Christian High School as a sophomore. Dealing with rules and bylaws from CCS, as a transfer student on varsity I had to sit out a whole season. This experience pushed me to become a better teammate and do whatever I can to help my team; meaning taking stats during games and being a tough opponent when practicing. Being on varsity on this team, dealing with adversity, being in one of the toughest schools in the state and competing in one of the toughest league in the country is truly a blessing. 
My junior year I was able to play a very important role as a returning varsity player. Even though there was about 8 defensive players on the team I was able to consistently see the court each game and help contribute with my serves and defense.
