Hi! My name is Mariya and I'm a libero/DS in the class of 2022. Although I am a defensive player now, I have had experience as a setter/opposite for four years. Playing multiple positions has formed me into a strong defensive and offensive player. Some of my strengths on the court include reading hitters, serve-receive passing, being quick on my feet, and being coachable. I am a team player that has a competitive attitude and works hard to achieve my goals and the goals of the team. 

Volleyball is one of my biggest passions, but I believe that my education comes first. My perseverance and competitive spirit are also reflected in my academics. Currently maintaining a 4.88 GPA, excelling in school is a top priority for me and will always be one. Along with volleyball, my passions include Indian classical dance(11 years), choral music(8 years), and as of recently, international issues and resolutions. I strive to be a leader on the court and in my community. I am an ASB commission head, cantor at my parish, and president of the Girls in STEM club. Helping my community will continue to be a passion of mine no matter where I continue my education.I would like to attend a college that challenges me in the classroom and in the gym. I love being competitive and being a part of a team that works as a cohesive unit. I look forward to hearing from you and would love the opportunity to play at the next level.
