I originally wanted to play volleyball to make more friends going into my freshman year. I had never played before, and I was quite introverted at the time so trying out was a big challenge for me. I absolutely fell in love with the sport, and started playing club and recreational beach volleyball my sophomore year. I continue to play volleyball because it makes me a better person, and I gain confidence in myself in doing so.
