- FRESHMAN YR: Shot 88 at HHC Conference. We made it to the IHSAA State Finals and placed 10th as a team. SOPHOMORE YR: At the Franklin Invitational I shot an 84. FC Invitational I shot an 81. At The Hall of Fame Tournament, I shot 81. At the Cascades Invitational, I shot 79. HHC Conference I shot an 81 making honorable mention. Sectionals- I played my best round with an 70(even par) and placed 3rd as an individual and our team set a new school record. Regionals- I shot an 89 and didn't play my best but we placed 2nd as a team. IHSAA State Finals- Day 1: 92 and Day 2: 85 and our team placed 6th overall. JUNIOR YR: During the summer I played in the Southern Junior Masters and shot an 82-85. In the SIJG Tournament at Valley View I shot a 81 and placed 2nd. In the SIJG Tournament at Chariot Run I shot a 78 and placed 2nd. In the SIJG Tournament at Champions Pointe I shot a 75 and placed 1st. In the SIJG Tournament at Covered Bridge I shot a 81. Now during the school season in the Center Grove Invite I shot a 76 and t-12th. At the Hall of Fame Tournament I shot a 80. At the Bloomington North Invite I shot a 81. HHC Conference I shot an 83 to make honorable mention and we got 1st as a team. In a 9-hole sectional preview I shot a 33 (-2). Sectionals I shot a 77 and t-4th and we also got 1st as a team. SENIOR YR: During the summer I played in the Age Group Championship and shot 79-84. In the SIJG Tournament at Wooded View I shot 78 and placed 1st. In the SIJG Match Play Tournament I went 8&7 the first day, 8&7 the second day, and the last day I went 2&1 to place 1st in the tournament. In the pre season Polo Fields Tournament I shot a 77. Now during the school season in the Bloomington South Invite I shot a 70(-1) and placed 1st overall.
About Me
My name is Abby Wright. I started playing golf when I was in 7th grade. Not long after I started playing, I realized that this was something that I wanted to do and that I already knew I was going to love. At the time, I started taking golf lessons from Scott Ivey at Champions Pointe in Henryville, IN, and continue to take them. One of the many things I love about playing golf is seeing how my hard work and dedication are displayed on the course. I have made many great friends while playing golf at Floyd Central, and hope to make many more. As you can see, I love this game and all of the aspects of it. I plan on continuing to work hard, stay positive, and set even more goals to achieve. I hope to play in college and study sonography to become an ultrasound technician.
