Athletics:
Three year varsity starter for Henry Clay High School, Lexington, KY. Henry Clay is one of the largest public schools in Kentucky (2500 students) with a rich basketball history. We play the toughest schedule in the state. Our team is currently ranked #2 in the state. On 01.22.19, we beat the #2 team in the state, Louisville Trinity. I helped guard a 6'6" Louisville signee, David Johnson, and we held him to 10 points. I put up 19 points and grabbed 10 boards and hit a go-ahead 3 with about 1 minute left. On 01.29.19, we beat the #8 team in the state, Madison Central, on the road. I scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds against a 6'8", D1 - Western Kentucky signee, Isaaiah Cozart. On 02.19.19, I put up 25 points and 16 boards in first game of state tourney. On 02.22.19, we beat the #1 team in the state, Scott County, to win the District Championship. Posted a double-double of 12 pts, 12 rebs., 4 assists and 3 steals. Defended Michael Moreno, a 6"7" D1 recruit, (13 offers from Iowa, Eastern KY, Coastal Carolina, etc.) and held him to only 8 points - 12 under his average. As a third offensive option (I play with two D1 level guards), I am averaging 14 ppg, 10 rpg and 3 apg. Shooting 65% from the field and 54% from the arc. Since the 2019 new year, my line is 16 ppg and 10 rpg with multiple double-doubles (13/14, 22/20, 10/10, 23/15, 19/10, 17/10, 17/13, 19/15, 25/16, 12/13/). I posted 14 total double-doubles for season.
Offensively I am versatile and can play all over the floor. I defend the 2, 3, 4, and 5. My coaches describe my game as rugged, old school and fundamentally sound. I relish man-to-man defense, love to rebound and can score from all three (3) levels.
This season our team finished 28-6. We lost in Region Finals to state-tourney runner-up (Kentucky plays a one-class tourney). We beat state champ back on 01.22.19. Only team in state to beat #1 and #2 this season.
I welcome tough challenges, good competition and helping my teammates improve.
