My name is Imani Payne from Charlotte, NC and I am interested in playing college basketball. I play on my high school team and I play AAU basketball for CBC Elite in Charlotte, NC.  I consider myself a leader and an extension of my coach on the floor. 
     Just to tell you a little bit about myself.  I am the point guard/ shooting guard at Zebulon B. Vance high school. I was named captain as a sophomore and again this past year as a Junior. During my Sophomore year, I led the team in assist (4.1 apg), rebounds( 5.0 rpg) and steals (3.5 spg). I was also 3rd in scoring at 7.5 ppg. I am an extremely hard worker and I demonstrate that every moment I am on the floor. I expect nothing but the best from myself and my teammates. 
     As a student, I am dedicated to academic excellence. I currently have a  3.9 GPA and scored a 950 out of 1600 on my SAT (Reading and Math).  I plan on retaking the SAT in February of my junior year.  My goal is a 1200. My academic strengths are in math and science. I intend on majoring in a field that will allow me to pursue my goal of becoming an athletic trainer. I am currently working with my school's athletic trainer as an assistant.
