Hi everyone, I'm Gavin Tompkins. I started playing baseball when i was 9 and have never stopped. I usually play baseball three seasons here in NC, spring, summer and fall. It gives me a chance to play my primary catching position but also to stay versatile by getting third base, pitching and outfield reps in the fall. Baseball is a huge passion for me and i hope to continue into college were i can play for a great school and get a great education. I am a hard worker, dedicated, punctual and very coach-able. I have also been strength training with Dan Rose, Olympian and Olympic weightlifting coach. He has helped me become stronger and faster which has translated into increased bat speed and velocity. This last year i joined X2, i am there 3 days a week with a custom tailored weight lifting regiment which has me now at my strongest and fastest ever. I am also in the cages, on the hittrax and working with hitting coaches from the next level helping me to become a better hitter using the whole field. When i am not playing baseball i am involved in my church youth group and participate in a couple of mission trips each year, hunting with my dad, hanging out with friends and the occasional game of MLB the Show.
