To whom ever take the time to read this. Hello, my name is Mercel Smith, a young athelete out of Roxboro, North Carolina that's been working to hopefully get a scholarship to college before graduating High School. My height is 5'10", weighing 230 pounds playing for Person High School in the postion of Defensive End. All my life I've dreamed of playing football at the next level and doing what ever it takes to get there. In the 8th Grade was the year I started playing football. The first position played was Right Tackle on the offensive line. When I got to high school my coach started me on the defensive side of the ball in the positions of defensive end and defensive tackle. My freshmen and sophomore years was very good in which I made some key tackles.  My junior year on varsity was acceptable, with some notable tackles. However, it could have been better. It was a good learning experience on what areas I need to improve in for my senior year in order to make a huge impact on my team.  Hopefully the improvements made in my athletic abilities will get on the radar of coaches and get me into a college somewhere. Im generally looking for a college that I can really be a huge impact on the team for the future of the university's program. I'm interested in a college that don't just focus on athletics but also the grades of it students as a whole. I want my grades to come first while in college, then sports. Hopefully I find a college or a college finds me that provides me with a great acedemic program or pragrams such as good Criminal Justice Program, a Trade and Technical Program, or Sports Science. I generally want to be a lawyer or look towards homeland security. But if those don't work I could look towards welding and auto mechanics or working with sports medicince.
