About Me

Ever since I can remember my father has always instilled in me not to be a follower and instead learn to be a leader. Not to follow crowds or social media trends.  My father served in the United States Marine Corps, and he has raised my siblings and I to always lead by example and, to work hard and earn your value that hard work pays off.  To do anything that we set out to do with the upmost effort, pride, and commitment, treat others with respect and dignity. Also to be responsible and to be accountable for our actions.  Now as a young adult I see now how my father was always grooming us to be ready to take on life and be leaders. He also taught us to always stand with honor and respect when ever the national anthem is played, and this didn’t become something special to me until I started playing football. In my high school and going onto the field in big stadiums. Still makes my skin crawl every time. This is something I want to continue to experience and what better way than to serve my country. Varsity football was where being a leader became something that I needed to embrace and learn to the fullest. In the biggening I didn’t want to accept this nor did I want to be apart of it all. All I wanted to do is play football and not anything to do with being vocal and being a team captain. As time went on and with my work ethic it became apparent not only to me but with my coaches that being a leader was in me and not only my father had instilled this in me, but my coaches were pushing me into that direction as well. My sophomore year is where I fully embraced the role of a leader in my Team. All I wanted to do is win games and to do this I needed to have my teammates see what hard work can accomplish I began to rally my teammates and have work outs with them after practice. Instruct younger classman on plays and always arrived at the team facility first and left last in all my practices. There were times were being a leader/captain was difficult especially when we were losing games, but I saw those times of difficulty as times to really motivate my team and show them the positive side of thing by showing them that even though we were losing to not go out without a fight. I would tell them to go all out because if they didn’t, the feeling of losing would be worse than just losing but knowing that they didn’t give it their all. These experiences with my team really helped and I see how they would build commodore among us. It also helps us to reflect on the loss and really look at what we can do to improve for our next game.
