Hi I am Naylee Fernandez, I am an older sister of three girls, it’s hard being the oldest, you always have to set an example for one another and your taught to set the bar high for your young siblings. I’ve always had a persona to prove myself to family being one of the only granddaughters who does sports, the only girl who does competitive dance, who has good grades, and who strives to go to college one day and play the sport she loves. I have been playing volleyball since sixth grade as a setter, from the beginning I have embrace the responsibility of leading a fast paced and competitive offense. I continuously push myself to improve my consistency, decision making, and tempo while striving excellence from myself in high pressure situations. I take pride in building strong connections with my hitters, reading the game, and competing at a high level against competition. While I strive to be the best on the court, I remain humble, coachable, and committed to constant growth. My goal is to contribute to any college program through discipline, leadership, and an elite work ethic. I’ve gone through mental challenges with myself until I found the lord, he’s led me to believe that I am never alone, that I could overcome anything within his word. Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you, for I am your God I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”. That will forever remain inside of me because I know the lord will always be beside me. Why I want to play college volleyball is because it pushes me to be my best every day, not just as an athlete but as a person. I’m excited by the idea of earning my place on a team, representing my school, and balancing high level athletics with academics. College volleyball isn’t just the next step for me it’s the place where I know I’ll grow the most.
