My name is Anissa Mitchell, I am an upcoming Senior (Class of 2022). I was born on February 19, 2004 in Austin, TX where I attended public school. My mom and I moved to Lockhart, TX in 2008 where I attended Lockhart ISD starting 1st grade and where I will graduate from. I am an Honor scholar and athlete. Volleyball has been one of my family’s favorite sport since my early childhood. My mom started teaching me the game of volleyball when I was 8 years old and I have loved it ever since. I have participated in track and field doing the triple jump, 4x4 and 100 meters where I did place for medals. I realized early that I wanted to remain focused on volleyball and started playing with Lockhart Jr high and high school in addition to club volleyball. I started participating in club volleyball in 2018-2019 I played with Strikers Under (Coach Girlich) where I played outside hitter, middle and back row and again 2020-2021 I played with Topflight under (Coach Lane) playing middle hitter while learning other skills such as setting, defense and being more aggressive with hitting power. I also participate in Lockhart spring volleyball leagues as well. I love the game of volleyball and feel I am very physical and athletically inclined. I will (chase, dive, jump to save a ball to keep it in play) and mental and eager learner to the sport I am a team player/leader and always ready to encourage my fellow teammates. I welcome and except challenges and undeterred by hard work. I hold and meets high standards of myself academically and on/off the court and would love to play volleyball at the collegiate level. My freshman year I was starter for JV and played outside hitter, Middle and back row. My sophomore/Junior year I played Varsity starter outside hitter, middle hitter, blocker and back row hitter with a good vertical jump I am currently 5’9 and know most hitters are taller than me, so if given the opportunity I know I can intensify my skills sets mentally and physically to become a top player/candidate. I enjoy playing Outside Hitter, middle and back row position because of my vertical jump and hitting power and defensiveness. My goal is to maximize the highest level of my skillsets and potential.
