About Me
Hello, My name is Brett Gomez, and I am a 6’1 180 pound guard from Chicago, Illinois c/o 2023.As a 6’1 shooting guard I do have a lot of competition wherever I go, but there are things Iknow I own that will make me stand out against others. I feel my shooting ability is at the top because of my attention to detail throughout my mechanics. Not only can I shoot, I feel the development of my athleticism has definitely played a huge role in my success. On the floor, my voice is an extension of the coaches. Showing true leadership as a point guard plays a much bigger role than scoring a lot and I could for sure get my teammates involved. I am confident in my abilities to make others better around me, and to emphasize that we should share the basketball. I spent 2 years developing my skills at middle school age throughout middle school, which led to my freshman year was down at IMG academy in Bradenton, Florida. The separation between me and several competitors comes a long way. My work ethic is what separates me from a lot of people who want to take success from me. I work everyday to strengthen my weaknesses and to get better. The work I put in is a reflection of how much the game of basketball means to me. Working out in the mornings, and late nights when no one else is at the gym is what motivates me because no one sees it. I am confident that my role as a guard, especially point guard is something that a coach is looking for to have in his program due to my ability to lead my teammates and being an extra coach on the floor. Lastly, being a good teammate is not all scoring the ball, no matter the type of night I am having I am always there to have my teammates back when they need it. To pick people up in the struggle is what makes you a teammate that everyone wants. My success is not all on the court, it starts in the classroom. I think a lot of people who may be good at basketball don’t take school seriously, in this case I do. I have maintained a 3.9 GPA throughout my years in high school so far. I study hard, to know that I will have success on and off the court. My SAT and ACT are N/A at the moment because I have not taken them. I am currently in a prep class in order to prepare myself to achieve my highest score possible I appreciate the time you took out of your day to read this. Hopefully I put the right words to express in how grateful I would be to be able to be apart of an organization and represent it the right way. Sincerely, Brett Gomez 630-849-3719 Email- gomezbrett21@yahoo.com Kennedy high school 6’1, 182 LBS, 07-13-04 Point guard/ shooting guard GPA- 3.9
