About Me

I am very intrigued in the sport of volleyball, and it has taught me many things that have inspired me to play it in college alongside focus on academics. I started playing volleyball in the sixth grade at my school, Berkeley Preparatory School, and I have played it ever since. Athletics are very important to me since I started out playing Tennis when I was four years old, and Basketball when I was seven years old. These sports have opened me up to volleyball, which I have found to be very hard to imagine my life without this amazing sport. I have played for two different clubs, one being Volleystars and the other being Pinellas Heat. The 2019-2020 year I was playing for Pinellas Heat, which was my first year playing for this club. This year it is my first year playing Tampa North for the 16U Team. Last year I have accomplished being the starting right side hitter, alongside setter on my club team, and on my school team I took the position of just starting setter. The position i’m looking forward to taking further is the setter’s position, which I have been very diligent and focused on. Other than the setters position I am equipped to take on any other position given to me, and succeed. As said by some of my teammates and coaches, I am a very hard-working athlete who takes the role of a leader very seriously. I have been very honored in being one of the captains for all my middle school and high school teams for tennis, basketball, and volleyball. For club teams, I have been the captain every year for volleyball and basketball leading up from sixth grade till now, eleventh grade. I have been told by my other teammates that I am very energetic and like to rub of that energy to others to lift their confidence, and help bring the team to success in having fun but also winning. What makes me different from other athletes is that I think of myself as a very coachable person, as I am able to listen and use the words said to make me push myself to be better. I am very outgoing as I like to have fun, but be serious when necessary, and I have a great sense of humor and make every moment count whether it is at practice or in a game. I believe that I will be able to continue to grow on my mental and physical ability in the game, and on getting better at my position which will help put me in a college-level volleyball setting mind-set to get me prepared. While looking at the potential of playing at a college for volleyball, I am also focusing on looking at prestigious colleges for my academics to show my achievements I have made so far. Although, I am only a junior in high school, I look forward to growing into a better person not only in general but in my athleticism and my academics to be prepared for college.
