My name is Cole Giegling and I have aspired to play a sport and
multiple sports for most of my life – whether it is soccer, basketball,
swimming, track, or wrestling – I have wanted to play football the most.
As I think back, I have had some really great coaches and teachers as I
look back and they have all influenced or helped me in some way – and I
have said to my parents that I would not be where I am today as a
person. The people in my life have helped me navigate some difficulties
be it my size or some struggles with English coursework (I’m more of a
visual learner) – it makes me want to work harder and drive to be
better. Now, I need to look forward to my next big step and that
is to play football at the next level while at the same time receiving a
great college education in business (finance). I acknowledge that the
college experience can provide many benefits and it is my responsibility
to give back to the school and community. This would be accomplished
with my capabilities on either side of the ball in multiple positions as
an athlete and leadership qualities – on and off the field. I have
demonstrated this as captain, helping younger, less experienced players
and stepping up to assist my coaches at any time. In the classroom, I
would bring the same determination to succeed.Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.Cole Giegling
