My name is Jacob Williams and I play center and power forward for Goodpasture Christian School. Before transferring, I played for James Lawson High School, where last season I made the TSSAA Division 10 AAA All-Tournament Team and the All-District Team.
Outside of school, I play AAU for WACG (We All Can Go) under Puma NXT Pro. This past summer, I went to elite basketball camps at Ole Miss and Lipscomb University, where I learned from some great coaches and got to see what it takes to play at the next level. With WACG, I played in the Made Hoops, Tip-Off Classic, and Puma NXT Pro tournaments and those games showed me exactly where I stack up against D1-level competition.
My short-term goal is to keep improving my footwork, ball handling, strength, and conditioning so I can be a bigger threat on both ends of the floor.
Long-term, I want to earn a scholarship to play college basketball, get my degree, and keep growing as a person. I want to make my family proud and keep building on what God’s given me.
I’m looking for a college where the coaches and players really care about getting better not just in basketball, but in life. I want to be part of a team that feels like family, with coaches who push me and believe in me. I also want a school that values academics and helps me grow on and off the court.
I want to play basketball in college because I love the game. I love the grind, the workouts, the brotherhood, all of it. Basketball has taught me a lot about teamwork, and discipline, and I want to keep learning and growing through the game.
I’m 6’8”, and I play with heart. I try to bring good energy every day and be a great teammate. Off the court, I’m focused on being a good person, on getting good grades, my faith, and being a better person overall.
