About Me

Hello, my name is Kadence Land and I am an athlete I have played sports all my life. I started off playing soccer when I was about 5 years old, as I got older I started to develop a love for other sports as well, I started to play flag football when I was about 10, being the only girl on the team wasn’t easy but it never made me stop trying to play. I still continued playing what I loved. I developed love for multiple sports when I started middle school, I went to corner lake middle and we only had 4 sports to play ( volleyball, soccer, basketball and track ) and I chose to play all of them. I was also team captain for all of those sports. Starting high school my freshman year was my best athletic year. I got MVP for volleyball, soccer and flag, for flag football I was the QB I able to get my team to a record of 10-1. Ending off with a great athletic year. I still continued to work out over the summer and go to all of the workouts my teams had. Starting my sophomore year it started off great but ended very bad, I ended up completely tearing my ACL playing for my high school soccer team and wasn't able to play for a whole year. It wasn’t easy at all, and is something I wouldn’t wish any athlete when they play, one of my biggest years as an athlete came to life, it never leaves your head when you know something is wrong, As I was going through my recovery I realized that I don’t play sports just to play them, I play my sports because I’m committed, competitive, and determined, when I was able to finally recover, I ended up going back to soccer in the middle of the season my junior year,  because the team needed me. As scary as it was I did it for my team, by the end of the season we placed 3rd in our district having a great season. I played flag once again and was the varsity QB, we made it all the way to playoffs and had a great season as well. I don’t regret going through the biggest injury of my life, even though I went through multiple stages of depression, when I got back on the field it enlightened my life, it showed that this isn’t just something I want to play for a little bit of time, it’s something I want to play for the rest of my life until I can’t. I will always take any challenges that anyone gives me, and I’m willing to keep competing no matter how hard it is.
