My name is Lauren Martin and I am 5’3 , 110 pounds and I am a DS/Libero currently living in Mendota, Illinois. I have been playing volleyball my whole life.  My volleyball career began at a very young age when I was 9 years old and started playing for Club Fusion in Loves Park, Illinois.   I played for Fusion for 3 years and the club was then renamed VC United.   My fourth year, I played for Sports Performance in Aurora,  which I loved, but it was quite a drive for me to get there being 14 at the time with no license.  The following three years, I played for a local club near my home, named Lions Jrs/ IVVP.  I am currently playing for VC United in Loves Park for the 18s team.   I have been a 4-year varsity player at Mendota High School.   As a Freshman, I also played a dual role as I was moved up to Sophomore team as starting Libero.  My sophomore year I was the main DS on Varsity  and was one of the top scorers.   During my Junior year, I was called upon to play All-around outside hitter on Varsity.   I had one of the hardest contacts on the team.   As a Senior, I was starting Libero and Team Captain.  I have played every position throughout my volleyball career and extremely versatile, which is why I think I am a good fit for any team and can plug any hole needed to better the team.   Just in my high school years, I was starting Freshman setter,  Sophomore Libero and DS, then outside hitter All-Around, then back to Libero, which is my true love.   During my senior volleyball season, I won All-Tournament team at our top HS tournaments and won many awards for my team such as Most Digs, Most Points, Most Aces, and Most Serve-Receive.   I am ranked #2 in the State of Illinois for Aces and #10 in the State for Digs on Maxpreps.  I also am in 5th place for at the State of Illinois for the most digs in a game.
