Hello my name is Wyatt Wilson and this is my story. I’ve been homeschooled all my life and this has presented unique opportunities. Some of the opportunities have been: being able to complete 65 college credits at the local community college, earn a welding certificate and train with professional athletes since age 13.
When I was 13 I looked into strength and conditioning training at Dynamic Sports Training, a locally and nationally renowned baseball training facility. After learning that the price per month was $200, I built a small lawn mowing business with over a dozen clients each week and saved up all summer. This gave more value to my training and the staff realized the amount of effort I put in to being able to workout, and because of this, I was given exclusive opportunities.
The last two years I was asked to catch pro pitchers nearly every week. Some of the big names I caught include local Houston Astros player Lance McCullers, Guardians pitcher Adam Oller, AAA prospect Spencer Arrighetti, and many other minor league and indy ball players. I have tried to make the most out of these opportunities by learning from these excellent pitchers both mentally and physically. These bits of knowledge have helped me become a dominant pitcher on my team.
Another opportunity from DST was being invited to have weekly hitting lessons with Carlos Correa. After this offseason with him and his hitting staff my hitting has improved exponentially. Additionally, I have gotten catching help from Jose Trevino, who won a platinum glove with the Yankees. This list of experiences and opportunities is not meant to name drop, but rather to show that professional players have willingly invested in the furtherance of my baseball career, teaching me numerous skills, tips, techniques and especially the proper mindset. I am blessed that others have seen my work ethic and coach-ability and chosen to invest in me. I hope you will consider doing the same!
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I’d love to hear from you!
