About Me
Hello:)) my name is Taylor McCoy, I am 16 years old, and I was born in Buffalo, New York. I moved to the Syracuse area around the age of 8, began attending the Liverpool Central School District, and am currently going into my junior year at Liverpool High School, which is where I row on our school team. I joined my freshman year in 2020 after years of anticipation after my friends older sister had joined the team. Since then, I have improved so incredibly much and have advanced to be one of the best rowers in my current program!! I began as seat 7 in my first novice 8+ boat, as being a starboard it was the closest I could become to stroke, but I have come to really love that seat. I still think of stern pair as my home on a boat! Since then, I have been placed in the bow seat of our teams senior 4+ as sophomore, which is an accomplishment I am super proud of! This sport has honestly brought me so much joy, I have never enjoyed going to any of my other sports practices as much as I do those at our boathouse. We share it with multiple other school and club teams, along with the Syracuse University Boathouse being only be a few yards away. Seeing the college rowers during their practices and time trials has really solidified my decision to row in college, and I really do hope that it can become a reality in my future! I would love to have the opportunity to row on a collegiate team while furthering my studies in Veterinary Medicine. School has always been extremely important to me and I believe that my academic and athletic accomplishments reflect that. Most of all, I am excited to strengthen my relationship with this sport!
