I was born a footballer… my first toy as a child was a soccer ball given to me by my grandfather, who was the coach of the national Afghanistan league in his day. My sister and I were both nurtured at a young age to become great footballers, by the age of 7 we were playing on the same team, where we competed against each other, made each other better, and complemented each others skills very well. Today, we are both on separate teams due to the 2 year age difference. In competitive leagues I played with Newark FC 1974, UC premier, and I have also played on my Washington high school team as a freshman. Even though high school soccer was a big change, I quickly got myself back on track with my training. When I play soccer, I feel that life is just about the field and the win, I forget about everything else, all my worries go away and I leave everything I have out on the pitch. All i’m thinking about is that win, and when you win, the feeling that it gives you, well I strive to feel that every time I play soccer, the feeling of you or your teammates scoring, the feeling of when you juke someone, the feeling of when you kick the ball, that is the feeling that I strive to feel every time I play. If I could play soccer and feel that every second of everyday, i would.
