I’ve been playing softball since I was four. Went to CGS at age five. At age ten played for the select team. Age 12 went to play for PS33, the worst experience ever after my injury. There was no more teaching moments. Went back to select age 13, got kick off the team since I was sick went back to rec then Covid happened. Freshman year, there wasn’t enough for two teams so I was put on the “JV” team along with another senior. But I was on varsity and I got to play at least 4 games. My defense was good but I couldn’t get the hitting right. Since Covid cut my rec season in half when I was 13, I was able to play all stars. My knee cap slipped after the secound tournament. Luckily I was able to play the next day. Then a month later my knee capped slipped again and locked up. Sophomore year, before tryouts I was finally released from physical therapy. So I wasn’t too strong. I was the only catcher on JV team and there was one catcher on varsity. I was best offensive player. Then I played fall ball and had a pretty good season. Junior year, there was only a varsity team. My coaches in the previous year had pulled me up to varsity and had told me I should’ve been on varsity. But junior year I struggled with my hitting. I felt like after each time my coach worked with me he messed me up. I told myself summer would be better. However 20 minutes before my first tournament I slipped in the bathroom, I felt my knee cap slip, but then it got worse the next day. Turned into a knee sprain. I was released to hit but my knee was still hurting. My IT band was tight. As of 06/21/2023 I am not able to play but hopefully I will be able to in two weeks.
