My name is Xavier Davis and I’m interested in being a part of your program.  I am 5’9, 200 pounds and play middle linebacker for Parkview Baptist School.  I have started varsity for Parkview since my sophomore year.  During my high school career so far, I have helped our team appear in one semi-final playoff game and two state championship appearances; winning the most recent.  During my sophomore and junior seasons, I have accounted for 220 tackles, 3 sacks, 15 tackles for loss and 1 interception.  And while I am very proud of those accomplishments, I feel that our winning a state championship as a young, undersized team is something that I will hold close to my heart forever. Parkview Baptist School has a proven track record of winning and success; having won 5 state football championships in the past 15 years.  What’s even more awesome is that the coaches and teachers work even harder in producing responsible young men that can immediately impact those around them and provide positive role models for others to follow. Although my stats reflects a lot of hard work and desire to win, it only describes a small part of who I am.  What you cannot see in this letter or on the field is that I have an exceptional work ethic, I am dedicated to working as a team to complete whatever goal I set.  I am self-motivated, a quick learner and possess the initiative to not only jump start me, but also help my team to win.  I feel that I have a heart of a lion and that I am a natural born leader that leads by example on and off the field. Although all of the above characteristics would benefit most programs, they are critical to who I am and how I perform.  And that’s what I will bring to your team and institution if given the opportunity to play for you and your program.
