My name is Chuck Duerr, Class of 2027, Lemont, Illinois.
I’m a right-handed hitter and thrower who plays 1B, 3B, and SS, and I also take the mound as a relief RHP. I am competitive, thrive in high pressure situations and am committed to getting better every single day.
What I’ve accomplished:
This past varsity season I hit .387 with a .525 OBP and posted a .971 fielding percentage across 34 chances at first base. I also compete year-round with Lightning Select Swanson, where I’ve continued to develop and play at a higher level of competition. Even though I’ve played on this team for years, I work to earn every opportunity I get to step on the field.
My goals:
I want to play at the next level, whether that’s JUCO or a four-year program, and continue developing into the best version of myself as a player and a person. My goal is to earn a starting spot, contribute to a winning program, and use baseball as a platform to grow.
What I’m looking for in a college:
I want to be part of a program where coaches invest in their players beyond the box score and have teammates that push each other. Academically, I want a school where I can prepare for life after baseball. I’m looking for a place where I’m challenged, developed, and genuinely wanted.
Why I want to play college baseball:
Baseball has shaped who I am. I’ve played since I was 3 and have a genuine love of the game. It’s taught me discipline, how to handle failure, and how to compete with and for other people. My faith is central to how I carry myself on and off the field, and I want to play for a program that values character as much as talent.
