About Me

I was born in Greenville, North Carolina.  I began playing baseball when I was four years old.  When I finished first grade my family moved to Long Island, New York.  It was there that began playing travel baseball and really falling in love with the sport.  As I got older I got involved with other sports and by time I was in eighth grade I was playing baseball, basketball, volleyball, and roller hockey.  Baseball was always the sport I was most passionate about.  During the hundreds of games and thousands of hours of practice I found that my skill set was geared towards pitching.  I had taken some private lessons to learn new skills, but almost every coach I worked with was impressed with my mechanics.   I always found that interesting because mechanics seemed to come natural to me.
As my eighth grade year came to an end my family decided that it was time to move back to North Carolina.  Instead of moving back to Greenville, we decided to move closer to Raleigh and my Nana and Opa.  My parents let me visit several high schools in the area.  They felt that since I was starting high school it was important for me to have a say in where I went.  I ended up choosing Cleveland High School.  Upon moving down we found a travel baseball team for me to play with and I made the JV team my freshman year.  When I finished eighth grade I was 5’ 9” tall, by time I started ninth grade I was pushing 6’ 1” tall.  This has certainly helped me with my pitching, and has attracted some attention from the other travel teams I played against.  I have been asked to guest pitch for several different travel teams over the past two summers which I felt was very nice compliments.
I continue to play basketball and I made the JV team my freshman year.  I will be trying out again for basketball soon.  The football coaches at the high school approached me and asked me to play, so since they did not have a boys volleyball program I decided to play football instead.  I enjoy playing sports in high school and it is a big part of my life.  As much as I love to be on the field, the court, or the mound I enjoy the weight room and training session just as much.  I have a passion for competition, but I still keep a special spot for baseball in my heart.  There is nothing more enjoyable to me than to be on the mound with the game in my hands.  I am excited for the next season of baseball to begin.  I can’t wait to see where this game will take me.
