About Me
Basketball has been a part of my life since 2nd grade. I signed up because my friends were playing. I loved it. I played again in the 3rd grade, not only playing for my school but a local church. In 5th grade, I did not want my seasons to end and began playing AAU. I loved being part of a team. I loved competing. Basketball was my life and still is my life.
My favorite trainer of all time, an awesome guy named James Harvey, had a tough conversation with me during my 7th-grade year. He said I was at a turning point, a crossroad of sorts. It was time for me to make the choice to play basketball because I loved the sport, not because I wanted to be playing on a team with my friends. Hard, but honest, words that I needed to hear. My friends were playing basketball as an activity; I played because I wanted to excel. This conversation changed my focus and made me goal-oriented that I wanted to play basketball in college.
I believe I would be a good candidate for any college school team because I am a competitor. For Coach Bruce Price of Peak Performance, I am his driver. I love playing a guard, taking the ball to the basket, having contact, and getting a "three-point play the old fashion way." For Coach Kyle Snipes at St. Pius X Catholic High School, I play a 4 or 5, maybe a 3... whatever he needs. Currently, he needs a player who is willing to fight for every rebound and get him 2nd chance points and points in the paint, or points with a 15-foot jumper. My hustle and work ethic this past season have made me a top scorer, the leading rebounder, and a starter.
Coach Snipes has called me a warrior. My middle school pe teacher called me a beast. I am good with either as they classify me as a player with strength, hustle, and mental toughness. I hope that earns me a spot on a college team.
