4 year varsity Letterman, 2021 North Hills - All League Selection
About Me
My name
is Ryan Osso and I am a 5'10" shortstop at El Modena High School in
Orange, California. I am a four-year varsity athlete for baseball where I
have played all over the infield since my arrival. My freshman and
sophomore years saw me start the season at second and third base before
being moved to shortstop for my junior season and named captain of this
season. Although I have not pitched at all this season, I am more than
capable of working a few innings on the mound and have gotten up to 83 -
85 mph with my fastball during the summer of 2020. In the classroom, I
am at the top of each class for grades and scored 1280 on my SAT I took
in the middle of March. I have a 3.86 GPA and a 4.34 weighted GPA and am
looking into majoring in some field of mathematics in college.I
can remember the weekdays after my dad came back from work; we would
spend hours on end playing wiffleball in our backyard until the sunset.
As a four-year-old at the time, my love and passion for this great game
had sprouted and has only grown from that point on. The relationships
and brotherhood created from my baseball experiences have endured the
last decade of my life and will continue to do so for the upcoming ones.
During this difficult year, the practice has been essential to my play
more than ever with the shortened off-season. Since January, I have been
arriving at least 30 minutes before practice, started to receive more
groundballs, or take some swings in the cage to further enhance my game.
I constantly strive for improvement because I know I can get better in
some way every day and each day gives me another chance to develop as a
human being. Baseball has been a part of my life for over 10 years now
and I wish to pursue it for much longer with the help of your expertise
and drive.
