About Me
My name is Lizzy Wagner. I am a 16-year-old Junior at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, Massachusetts. I started playing volleyball when I was a Sophomore at a summer camp for MGA. I've been doing volleyball for about a year and 5 months and have been told I've improved tremendously at incredible speed. I was introduced to club volleyball and have played for Southern Alliance for one year and have moved to MGA Volleyball for this year. I am currently on the National 17's team and am having a great time expanding my volleyball IQ and increasing my skills. Some history of my past sports: I did Eagle Gymnastics in Dallas, TX for a couple of years and was asked to train to become an Olympic athlete when I was younger than 10. I moved to competitive cheerleading afterwards: Cheer Athletics in Dallas and Plano. I cheered there for years working on becoming a competitor for the biggest competition: Worlds in Orlando. I then moved to Massachusetts and chose a new cheer program that benefited my skills efficiently. I competed at Summit in Orlando twice with East Celebrity Elite while winning more than 50 competitions around New England. I eventually came to Notre Dame Academy freshman year and tried out for the cheerleading team and was on the Varsity team for my first year. I transitioned into volleyball the summer after freshman year had ended. I tried out for my high school's volleyball team and was considered for Varsity and put on JV. JV helped me understand the game more and more as I played, and I was a starter. After my first high school volleyball season my JV coach encouraged me to play club volleyball to further my experience and skills. I played club volleyball up until COVID-19 stopped the season. I tried out for my high school's Varsity team in September after working long hours at camps and doing lessons which fortunately got me a spot on my Varsity team as a setter. I enjoyed playing varsity for my high school my junior year and look forward to continuing to represent my school my senior year. Over the last several months, I have also taken private and group camps for volleyball. All of the camps are from Coach Fabe Ardila, the head volleyball coach for MGA Volleyball, who has helped me improve in all areas of my game. When I am not playing volleyball, I enjoy playing sports with my other siblings, reading a new series or working on my camera skills for photography club. At my high school, I am involved in all honors classes and an advanced placement college class. I am part of my school's 1804 Society which helps new incoming students as well as helping out around the school. I am part of the Computer Science Honors Society and the French Honors Society. I enjoy my Business Management class, which I am planning on taking at my future college as a major. When I am not playing sports or going to school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like traveling and being outdoors. I spend most of my summers with my family going on small trips around New England and enjoy the warm weather.
