My Story
Aaron James Thomas (AJ Thomas), a student athlete at Morgantown High School, excels both academically and athletically. As a sophomore, he lettered on the varsity football team, representing his school with pride.

AJ comes from a family with a rich football legacy. His father, James "JT" Thomas Jr., and brother, James "JT" Thomas III, were both accomplished linebackers for West Virginia University. Both of them also had professional football experience, with JT Jr. playing for the Albany Fire Birds of the AFL and JT III playing for the NFL teams such as the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, and NY Giants. JT III retired after an impressive seven-season career.

As the middle child, AJ has had to work hard for everything he has achieved. One of his toughest lessons in sports came in the form of rejection when his father, JT, who also coached a youth NFL flag football team, did not select AJ for the all-star team. JT communicated to AJ that he was not good enough to be appointed to the All-Star team. However, at the age of eight, AJ embraced this challenge and expressed his desire to learn how to catch the long pass and improve his skills.

Over the next eight years, AJ has proven to his father, peers, and community that football is where he truly belongs. He has consistently been a starter on every team he has played on since his flag football days. Throughout his youth and middle school experiences, he dominated on the offensive side of the ball.
